Introduction to Fattoria Mosè, Sicily
Fattoria Mosè is a lovely old family farm just four kilometres from the ancient city of Agrigento in south western Sicily.
The farm produces some of the most amazing olive oil I have ever tasted, as well as pistachio nuts and citrus fruits. All hands-on classes take place in the old pressing room, next door to the fully equipped modern kitchen and meals are enjoyed on the cool, green terrace overlooking the valley. I have devised the course programme to really make the most of the true flavours of Sicily, using local ingredients that are in season and very much in keeping with the island’s culinary culture. There is a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere at Fattoria Mosè and our days of cooking and eating are punctuated with market visits, trips to the beach, a fascinating wine tour and on our last night—at the end of a day’s cooking and feasting—a moonlight tour of the Valley of the Temples!
